Special Event
Sunday, Apr 19, 2026 | 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM
Register to attend this free Prologue event and discover the scholarship behind Shakespeare's most iconic love story. Dr. Michael Witmore, former Director of the Folger Shakespeare Library—the world's largest collection of original Shakespeare materials—joins Kevin Landis, UCCS Theatre and Dance Professor and producer of Prologue, and Max Shulman, Artistic Director of Theatreworks, for an illuminating conversation exploring the historical context, literary brilliance, and enduring power of Romeo and Juliet.
Dr. Witmore brings unparalleled expertise as the author of five books on Shakespeare and Early Modern literature, offering audiences a rare opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Bard's craft and Theatreworks' bold new production.
Make an afternoon of it: tickets are available for the 4:00 PM performance of Romeo and Juliet immediately following the Prologue. Come for the insight. Stay for the passion.
